Value Creation Rating: from academic study to website
The Value Creation Rating (VCr) measures whether a firm creates more value than it extracts. The 2026 edition assesses the world's 1,000 largest listed firms, weighing their value creation and inclusive transfers to stakeholders against the extractive transfers they take from them.
It is a study by the Foundation for Value Creation and the University of St. Gallen. The report is published once a year, in the autumn, and the 2026 edition is the third. The official website lets readers look up and compare its results.

From report to website
Three tools bring the report's results into an interactive format.

Firm scorecards
Each firm has its own scorecard. It assigns one of the rating's nine classes, from V1 to Z2, on a scale comparable to credit ratings, and benchmarks the firm's VCr against its sector and country baselines.
Comparison tool
It compares the VCr and VCp of up to eight firms.
Sustainable Value Matrix
It places up to three firms in one of four quadrants, according to how their business model combines value creation and profitability.
